History of the Long Dell Inn, a Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast
Long Dell Inn, a Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast, was built in
1850 as a private residence, by a local sea captain, Reuben Jones. Captain
Jones established his wealth during the California Gold Rush and retired at an
early age of 32, choosing Centerville to be his homeport. The architect
designed the home as a classic Greek Revival, with plenty of rooms to
accommodate Reubens wife and children.

The home is now listed on the National Register of Historic
Places as well as being in the Historic District of
Centerville. It has operated on Cape Cod as a Guest House/Bed &
Breakfast Inn for over eighty years. Long Dell refers to the property's long
& sloping back yard.
